This statement came in an interview Hayat gave to journalists on the sidelines of his attendance at the celebration of Chad’s 66th Independence Day, hosted by the Chadian Embassy in Kuwait, in the presence of a select group of heads of diplomatic missions and representatives of international organizations in the country.
Hayat said that “Kuwaiti-Chadian relations are poised for further development and prosperity in the coming phase, given both countries’ commitment to expanding areas of cooperation and enhancing shared interests.”
Regarding Kuwaiti investments in Chad, he clarified that the Kuwaiti side is discussing this file with the Chadian Ambassador, noting that the Chadian government will present proposals including available investment opportunities in the country, to pave the way for their study, assessment of their economic feasibility, and discussion between the governments of the two countries, including through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
On the possibility of bringing Chadian labor to Kuwait, Hayat affirmed that the labor file represents one of the main topics on the agenda of bilateral cooperation, adding that it will be discussed with his Chadian counterpart during the upcoming political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
Regarding cooperation in the field of food security, Hayat stressed that this file is at the top of the cooperation agenda between the two sides, explaining that the Chadian government will identify available opportunities and areas in this regard in the coming phase, to pave the way for discussing them with the Kuwaiti side.
For his part, the Chadian Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Taher Khatir, praised in a speech on this occasion the cooperation between Chad and Kuwait through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, which contributes to supporting several projects in the fields of health, infrastructure, and agriculture.
He also appreciated the presence of Kuwaiti charitable associations and organizations in his country and their contributions to humanitarian and charitable work.
Khatir affirmed that his country looks forward to developing its relations with Kuwait and elevating them to the level of a “fruitful strategic partnership,” particularly in the fields of investment, agriculture, livestock, infrastructure, industry, renewable energy, and tourism, calling on Kuwaiti businessmen to make Chad one of their investment destinations.
