Kuwait Airways Organizes “Ground Services Safety Week”
Kuwait Airways organized the “Ground Services Safety Week” events, which ran from August 11 to 16, as part of its commitment to fostering a safety culture among its employees and raising awareness of the importance of adhering to security and safety procedures and standards across all ground operations. These efforts aim to provide a safe working environment and enhance operational performance quality.
The week’s activities included a series of workshops and awareness lectures covering the principles and foundations of safety and security, their application in ground operations, and an overview of key practices and procedures designed to mitigate potential risks associated with operations, equipment, and aircraft. The events also emphasized the importance of adopting preventive and proactive measures to reduce accidents and risks before they occur.
In addition, the events featured competitions and interactive activities among employees to foster a spirit of positive competition and encourage participation and engagement with safety topics. These initiatives contributed to raising awareness levels and reinforcing safety concepts and performance quality in ground operations, alongside honoring participating and outstanding employees.
In this regard, Acting CEO of Kuwait Airways, Captain Abdulwahab Ibrahim Al-Shatti, affirmed that safety is one of the most fundamental pillars of the company’s operational processes. He noted that Kuwait Airways is committed to continuously developing and strengthening its safety system by enhancing human resource efficiency, implementing best practices and preventive procedures, and ensuring compliance with established requirements and standards in the field of security and safety.
Al-Shatti stated that Kuwait Airways implements security and safety requirements in accordance with standards and regulations approved by the Public Authority for Civil Aviation, in alignment with the requirements of airlines and relevant international organizations and bodies, notably the International Air Transport Association (IATA), thereby enhancing safety levels across all stages of operational processes.
