Chelsea signs Spanish full-back Pep Chavaria

English football club Chelsea signed Spanish defender Pervis Estupiñán, formerly of Rayo Vallecano, on Wednesday to replace Marc Cucurella.

Chelsea already have another Spanish player in the left-back position, as Estupiñán has signed a contract running until 2031. Last season, Estupiñán helped Rayo Vallecano reach the UEFA Europa Conference League final and finished eighth in La Liga for the second consecutive year.

Estupiñán said: “It’s a dream come true for me, especially since Chelsea is one of the biggest clubs in the world. It’s a huge opportunity, but I’m ready and will work hard to help the team achieve success.”
