University Launches Orientation Forum for Freshmen

Kuwait University launched today its annual orientation conference for new students, titled “A Conscious Academic Launch Toward Excellence,” for the 2026–2027 academic year, under the patronage of University President Dr. Dina Al-Milhim, at the Sabah Al-Salem University City.
In her address to the conference, representing Dr. Al-Milhim, Acting Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Salem Al-Shammari expressed his welcome and delight at meeting the new students, emphasizing that the university believes its mission extends beyond merely imparting academic knowledge to encompass building well-rounded, conscious individuals who take pride in their values and are prepared to assume their responsibilities toward their country and society.
He noted that the conference marks the beginning of a new phase and offers an opportunity to get to know university life up close, along with the potential and opportunities it provides for learning, development, and the building of expertise and skills. He stressed that the university aims for students to embark on this phase with confidence and ambition, and to be well-informed about the university services and regulations that help them maximize the benefits of their academic experience.
For her part, Acting Head of the Counseling Department Aisha Al-Maqawi presented an introductory overview covering the academic journey, mechanisms for utilizing counseling services, and strategies for preparing new students for the transition to university life. She emphasized enabling them to begin their academic careers on a clear foundation that contributes to achieving success and excellence.
Al-Maqawi stated that the conference serves as the starting point for university life, explaining the regulations and bylaws to students, while also informing them of their rights and duties and the services provided by the university from their first day of enrollment, thereby enhancing their integration into the university environment.
The conference activities include training workshops organized by the Al-Khwarizmi Center for Information Technology Training and the E-Learning Center, aimed at introducing the electronic platforms and systems that students rely on for their university studies.
Additionally, the Security and Safety Department is participating in raising student awareness regarding security and safety procedures on campus, while also providing a service for issuing university IDs to new students during the conference.
