Al-Naishi Al-Yad concludes its internal camp

Our national junior handball team will conclude its internal training camp tomorrow (Thursday) at the Arena Mall complex, as part of its preparations for the 11th Asian Junior Championship, scheduled to take place in Oman from August 20 to 31.

The junior national team played two friendly matches against their Bahraini counterparts, who are also training at the Arena Mall complex in preparation for the same tournament. The first match ended with a 26-24 victory for Bahrain, and the second saw Bahrain win 23-22.

For his part, National Teams Director Faisal Saywan confirmed that these matches were highly beneficial and contributed to raising the players' readiness, especially given the strength of the Bahraini team, which is considered one of the main contenders for the title of the upcoming Asian Championship.

Saywan explained that the new technical staff, led by Icelandic coach Estefan, who took charge recently, greatly benefited from the internal training camp and the friendly matches against the Bahraini national team. These sessions helped assess the players' levels, identify strengths and weaknesses, and address areas for improvement ahead of the upcoming tournament.

Saywan added that the junior national team will resume intensive daily training immediately after the conclusion of the internal camp, at the Federation Hall, for five days before departing on August 18 for Jordan to compete in the championship.

It is worth noting that the draw placed the junior national team in Group 2, which also includes South Korea, Iran, Jordan, India, and Syria. Group 1 comprises Japan, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, Chinese Taipei, and Uzbekistan.
