Al-Azraq concludes preparations for his second friendly match against Jordan

The Kuwait U-20 national football team will conclude its training sessions today, Monday, in preparation for the second friendly match against Jordan, scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday. The game serves as a preparatory fixture for the seventh qualifying group, hosted by Cambodia from August 31 to September 6, which determines qualification for the Asian Cup finals.

Jordan secured a 1-0 victory in the first meeting between the two sides on Saturday at the Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadium in Sulaibikhat.

The Blue Team players underwent a recovery training session yesterday morning, followed by a regular training session at the late Abdulrahman Al-Bakr Stadium in the evening.

It is worth noting that Jordan competes in the fourth qualifying group of the same campaign, hosted by Bahrain during the same period.

Under the guidance of Croatian coach Vedro Milin, the technical staff aims to rectify the mistakes made by the players and address the shortcomings observed in the first match, while working to improve team cohesion. The second encounter offers a fresh opportunity to correct course and assess the readiness of the selected squad ahead of the official qualifiers.

The main concerns included a lack of structured attacking play, limited effectiveness, and lapses in concentration at times. However, the match also highlighted positive aspects, such as the players’ fighting spirit, the strong performances of several individuals, and Milin’s effective reading of the game.

Jordan was not in a much better position than Kuwait, failing to dominate the match. Both teams were significantly affected by the hot weather conditions during the encounter.

The Blue Team’s technical staff hopes the second match will yield greater tactical benefits by providing playing time for a wider number of players.
