Ministry of Education: Enhancing the role of school sports in building promising generations
Dr. Hessa Arab, Acting Director of the Technical Guidance Department for Physical Education at the Ministry of Education, affirmed the ministry’s commitment to enhancing the role of school sports in building a promising generation of athletes. She expressed her gratitude and appreciation to Minister of Education Eng. Syed Jalal Al-Tabatabai for providing the opportunity for school summer clubs and for his continuous support of activities that contribute to harnessing female students’ potential and developing their capabilities.
This statement came in an interview regarding the first evening summer club futsal tournament for girls, held at Zubaida Intermediate School for Girls, under the patronage of the Kuwait Sports Federation for Schools and Higher Education.
Arab stated that the tournament aims to develop and refine girls’ skills in football, discover sporting talents in a competitive environment that promotes fair play among students.
For her part, Heba Al-Hazaa, Head of the Ahmadi Summer Center, confirmed that this tournament is the first of its kind across all girls’ summer club centers in all educational districts for both intermediate and secondary stages in football. She noted that its primary objective is to facilitate the exchange of experiences among players, foster interaction among students, and provide them with opportunities to compete and interact with clubs from other centers to enhance their technical level and gain practical experience.
Al-Hazaa added that the tournament witnessed strong participation and notable interest from students and parents. It also led to the discovery of many sporting talents during the summer club period. At the conclusion of the event, the best player, best goalkeeper, and top scorer were honored to encourage outstanding performers.
Regarding the competition results, Al-Hazaa clarified that in the intermediate stage, Hawalli Center secured first place, while Ahmadi Center took second place.
In the secondary stage, Al-Jahra Center (Aisha) won first place, Capital Center came in second, and Ahmadi Center finished third.
On her part, Sara Al-Ajmi, supervisor of the Ahmadi Summer Center, explained that the event was organized under the supervision of the Ahmadi Center and hosted by Zubaida Girls’ Intermediate School over three days. The management ensured the selection of a suitable venue and provided all necessary facilities to guarantee the tournament’s success and proper execution.
Al-Ajmi noted that three specialized committees were formed to manage and organize the tournament: an organizing committee, a refereeing committee, and a first aid committee. These efforts contributed to the smooth and safe conduct of matches, amidst an atmosphere of discipline and high sportsmanship.
