Municipality: Supporting economic activities and raising awareness of regulations and laws

The Kuwait Municipality affirmed today, Sunday, its support for economic activities in the country through the “License Your Activity… Take the Right Steps” campaign, which recently launched and aims to raise awareness among shop owners regarding the requirements and regulations governing their operations, thereby helping them avoid violations and legal penalties.

Hamad Al-Nimran, Advertising Supervisor at the Audit and Follow-up Department of the Capital Governorate Branch, stated in a press statement during the first field tour in the Capital Governorate that the campaign is not limited to commercial shop licenses but also covers craft, professional, investment, and industrial activities.

He explained that field teams are focusing on identifying three types of violations: operating a shop without a license, adding unlicensed space, and conducting or adding an unlicensed activity without municipal approval.

He emphasized that the Audit Department conducts daily field campaigns across various investment, commercial, and industrial areas in the Capital Governorate to monitor and document violations and encroachments. In cases of minor infractions that do not warrant formal penalties, warnings are issued.

Al-Nimran urged business owners to follow the official accounts of the Kuwait Municipality to benefit from awareness messages and guidelines that will be published regularly, and to contact the municipality to inquire about any regulatory requirements, thereby facilitating their procedures and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
