Kuwait Investment Company signs agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries

Kuwait Investment Company (KIC) signed a cooperation agreement with the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources to implement a greening and development initiative for a site located between the Abdullah Al-Salem and Mansouria districts at the end of the highway, in collaboration with the Green Urban Development Initiatives Committee. This move aligns with KIC’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its dedication to supporting national efforts aimed at enhancing environmental sustainability and expanding green spaces in Kuwait.

The initiative extends the company’s strategy of building effective institutional partnerships with government entities and state organizations, contributing to the implementation of developmental projects with sustainable impacts that enhance quality of life and improve the urban landscape. This is driven by the company’s belief in the importance of integrating efforts between the public and private sectors to achieve sustainable development.

On this occasion, Talal Al-Rashdan, Deputy Head of Public Relations and Media at KIC, emphasized that this agreement embodies the company’s vision of leveraging its corporate social responsibility to create a positive and sustainable impact on society. He noted that investing in the environment is an investment in the future of coming generations, reflecting KIC’s commitment to supporting national initiatives that contribute to sustainable development and the preservation of natural resources.

He added that the selection of this strategic site for development and greening stems from the desire to contribute to improving the urban landscape and creating a more sustainable and beautiful environment. As one of the main entrances to Kuwait City, the site enjoys a strategic location with heavy traffic, granting the initiative a broad visual and environmental impact and reflecting the nation’s civilized image.

Al-Rashdan affirmed that this initiative aligns with national trends aimed at increasing green areas and upgrading public facilities. He pointed out that KIC views sustainability as an integral part of its institutional strategy, rather than merely a set of seasonal initiatives.

He praised the significant role played by the Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources under the leadership of its Acting Director General, Salem Al-Hai, commending the Authority’s cooperation in ensuring the success of this initiative. He also commended the efforts of the Green Urban Development Initiatives Committee and its role in supporting environmental projects that contribute to developing the urban landscape and reinforcing concepts of environmental sustainability.

He confirmed that KIC will continue to launch and implement high-quality initiatives in partnership with various official entities and civil society organizations, driven by its mission to enhance sustainable development and create added value for society, thereby solidifying its position as an effective national partner in supporting community and environmental initiatives that align with Kuwait’s vision for a more sustainable future.

This agreement reflects KIC’s commitment to continuing its role in serving society through corporate social responsibility initiatives that achieve long-term impact, enhance cooperation with government entities, and contribute to building a more sustainable and higher-quality urban environment for current and future generations.
