Gulf, Arab, and Islamic condemnations of Houthi militia terrorist attacks on Najran in Saudi Arabia

The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassem Al-Bouaidi, expressed his strongest condemnation and outrage today, Friday, against the heinous terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militias, which targeted the Najran region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, resulting in injuries to several innocent civilians. He described the attack as a cruel and cowardly act that embodies the criminal approach of these militias.

In a statement, Al-Bouaidi said that this abominable terrorist crime by the Houthi militias constitutes a blatant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, and is a crime that demands accountability due to its deliberate and random targeting of civilians and civilian objects, in open defiance of all international norms and conventions, and poses a serious threat to regional and international security and stability.

He emphasized that the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of the security of the GCC member states, affirming the Council’s unity in standing alongside the Kingdom and its full support for all measures taken to protect its security, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens and residents.

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Nabil Fahmi, also condemned today, Friday, the Houthi militia attacks on the Najran region in southern Saudi Arabia, as well as attacks on sites belonging to the Yemeni government forces in the Marib and Hadhramaut governorates in the past few hours.

He affirmed the Arab League’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the face of any aggression targeting its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, while simultaneously stressing the necessity of halting Houthi attacks and the ongoing military escalation within Yemen.

The Secretary-General stressed that the current phase requires an end to escalation, refraining from any actions that would widen the scope of confrontation, and returning to the political track to safeguard the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as Yemen’s stability, unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned today, Friday, the criminal attacks launched by the terrorist Houthi militia on the Najran region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

In a statement, OIC Secretary-General and President of the Council of Senior Scholars, Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, denounced this terrorist attack, which violated all religious values, international laws, and humanitarian norms, underscoring the criminal approach of this terrorist militia in deliberately targeting civilians and civilian objects.

On behalf of the OIC’s assemblies, bodies, and global councils, and on behalf of all Islamic peoples under its umbrella, he reaffirmed full solidarity with the Kingdom in all measures it takes to protect its security, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens and residents, praying to God Almighty to protect the Kingdom, its land, leadership, and people from all harm and evil.
