Frustration of an attempt to smuggle large quantities of various food supplies

Inspectors from the General Directorate of Customs at the Salibya and Al-Shabba Vegetable Customs Offices, thanks to their vigilance and expertise in customs inspection and surveillance, thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of various food supplies, which were hidden inside trucks bound for the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The seizure occurred while the trucks were undergoing customs inspection procedures. Thorough inspections revealed large quantities of assorted food items, in violation of applicable laws and regulations. Necessary legal measures were taken against the offenders, and the case was referred to the competent authorities to complete the procedures.

The General Directorate of Customs reaffirms its ongoing efforts to tighten control at customs borders and combat all smuggling attempts, thereby ensuring the protection of economic security, safeguarding the state’s resources, and enforcing laws and regulations with firmness.
