stc contributes $5 million to the Emergency Response Fund

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced today that Kuwaiti telecommunications company stc has contributed a total of $5 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund. The contribution consists of cash and in-kind support, including infrastructure for AI-enabled internet networks, aimed at bolstering the fund launched on July 5 last year to enhance national preparedness and improve Kuwait’s efficiency in responding promptly to exceptional circumstances.
The Kuwait Fund emphasized that stc’s contribution reflects the vital and responsible role of Kuwait’s private sector in supporting government entities, providing the necessary resources for rapid crisis response, and reinforcing values of solidarity and social cohesion.
stc is one of the leading companies in Kuwait’s telecommunications and information technology sector, driving digital transformation efforts by offering advanced telecommunications and technology services and solutions to individuals and businesses, and operating the country’s largest 5G network.
The Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was established at the initiative of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, following approval by the Council of Ministers, with the Kuwait Fund tasked with its management and full oversight. This initiative aims to strengthen institutional resilience, enhance national response efficiency, and empower relevant authorities to address emergency challenges effectively and efficiently.
