Bashizhian: Communication with the Supreme Leader is currently extremely difficult

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said on Wednesday that communication with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who has not appeared in public since his inauguration in March, is “very difficult at present.”

Pezeshkian added in a televised address, speaking about the son and successor of Ali Khamenei, who was assassinated on the first day of the US-Israeli war against Iran on February 28, that “communication with him is currently very difficult, but his existence remains, in any case, a significant asset that enables us to continue.”

Mojtaba Khamenei was injured in those attacks and has not made any public statements since then, limiting himself to statements attributed to him.

He also did not appear at the memorial ceremony for his father last month.

Nevertheless, Pezeshkian defended Mojtaba Khamenei, emphasizing that he had managed to hold productive meetings with him. He continued, “Unfortunately, the current situation allows some biased individuals to portray him differently and present a distorted image of him.”
