Stock Market Rebounds on Geopolitical Developments and Corporate Earnings

Kuwait Stock Exchange indices rebounded today during the session’s final hours of the week, posting broad gains supported by sustained geopolitical calm and the continued release of positive first-half results by listed companies, which boosted market performance and accelerated the upward trend.
The market continues to see strong investor buying interest in many listed shares, particularly operational and leading stocks, as confidence in corporate performance remains high and investors anticipate the continuation of positive results in the coming period.
In tandem with these gains, trading liquidity rose by 18.8 percent to reach 82.6 million dinars, compared to 69.5 million dinars in yesterday’s session. The First Market maintained its dominance, capturing 64 percent of the total liquidity, while the Main Market accounted for the remaining 36 percent.
Many shares posted positive performance, with Al-Anzima leading the gainers with an increase of over 13 percent, followed by several other stocks including Imtiyazat and Markaz. Meanwhile, Thuraya shares declined by approximately 5 percent, topping the list of the biggest losers.
A total of 134 shares were traded; prices rose for 68 shares, fell for 49, and remained unchanged for 17. Weighted indices rose for 10 sectors, led by the Technology sector with a 13.45 percent gain and Basic Materials with a 1.45 percent increase. Conversely, indices for three sectors—Insurance, Healthcare, and Real Estate—declined by 0.81 percent, 0.26 percent, and 0.11 percent, respectively.
In detail, the General Market Index rose by approximately 29.67 points, or 0.34 percent, to reach 8,876 points. Trading volume reached 294.8 million shares across 20,600 transactions.
The First Market Index gained approximately 24.51 points, or 0.26 percent, closing at 9,319 points. Trading value stood at 52.9 million dinars, with a volume of 150.3 million shares executed through 10,043 transactions.
The Main Market Index rose by approximately 61.16 points, or 0.69 percent, to reach 8,959 points. Liquidity amounted to 29.7 million dinars, with trading volumes of 144.4 million shares across 10,557 transactions.
As a result, the market capitalization of the exchange reached approximately 53.12 billion dinars, up from 52.94 billion dinars at the close of yesterday’s session, representing an increase of about 0.33 percent.
Regarding the most traded shares by value, GFH topped the list with 6.2 million dinars, closing at 176 fils. It was followed by National Bank with 5.8 million dinars, closing at 870 fils, then Bank AlBilad with 5.8 million dinars, closing at 787 fils, and International Holding Company with 4.4 million dinars, closing at 184 fils. Gulf Bank ranked fifth with 3.4 million dinars, closing at 363 fils.
Al-Anzima led the biggest gainers with a 13.45 percent increase, trading 2.5 million shares to close at 970 fils. It was followed by Imtiyazat, which rose 9.57 percent, albeit with only 150 shares traded, closing at 378 fils. Markaz came third with an 8.47 percent gain, trading 7.8 million shares to close at 192 fils. Diggs ranked fourth with a 7.98 percent increase, trading 454,500 shares to close at 1.760 dinars. Umm Al-Quwain topped the fifth spot with a 6.15 percent rise, though only 10 shares were traded, closing at 138 fils.
On the other hand, Thuraya shares fell by 4.91 percent to top the list of the most declining stocks, with a trading volume of 2.2 million shares, closing at a price of 213 fils. It was followed by Tajirah, which dropped by 4.82 percent on a trading volume of 20.2 million shares, falling to a price of 158 fils, then Awal Takaful, down by 4.74 percent with a trading volume of 1.1 million shares, closing at 201 fils, and Emirates Insurance, which declined by 4.05 percent on a trading volume of 5.7 million shares, dropping to a price of 142 fils. In fifth place was Yubak, down by 3.38 percent with a trading volume of 168,200 shares, closing at 200 fils.
