Kuwait and Indonesia: Bilateral Memorandum of Understanding to Expand Cultural Cooperation

Kuwait’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Khaled Al-Yassin, held talks on Wednesday with Indonesian Minister of Culture Fadli Zon on expanding cultural cooperation through the preparation of a bilateral memorandum of understanding between the two countries.

The discussion took place during a meeting convened by Ambassador Al-Yassin with Minister Zon at the Ministry of Culture’s office in the capital, Jakarta, to explore efforts to strengthen cultural ties between Kuwaiti and Indonesian institutions.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Yassin praised the deep cultural and civilizational exchange between Kuwait and Indonesia, affirming Kuwait’s leadership and distinction in cultural, literary, and scientific fields across the Middle East region.

Minister Zon stated that the meeting discussed ways to enhance cultural relations through the preparation of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, cooperation within the framework of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) agreement, and the development of cultural diplomacy programs between Indonesia and Kuwait.

Zon expressed his country’s interest in developing joint cooperation between cultural institutions in both nations, particularly in the fields of archaeology, museums, traditional crafts, and folk arts, to help strengthen bonds and enhance communication between the two peoples.
