Person in possession of ammunition arrested near Trump Golf Field

A man armed with a weapon was detained on Sunday at a golf course owned by Donald Trump in California, two days before a scheduled visit by the US president to the site on Tuesday evening, according to a statement from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

The arrest took place on Sunday afternoon at the golf course located in Rancho Santa Fe, near Los Angeles. Trump is scheduled to travel there on Tuesday evening to attend a fundraising dinner organized by the Republican National Committee.

The suspect, identified as Jeanine John Taylor, was found with a 16-round magazine containing ammunition in his pants pocket.

Subsequently, the sheriff’s office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s counterterrorism unit conducted a search of the man’s home in Downey, a suburb of Los Angeles, where they discovered a rifle, a handgun, a bulletproof vest, ammunition magazines, ammunition, two walkie-talkies, and “notebooks containing alarming phrases.”

Investigators submitted the case file on Tuesday morning to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office, which will decide on potential criminal charges.
