Barcelona's Historic Women's Deal

In a move described as the largest in the history of women’s transfers, Spanish club Barcelona officially announced the signing of Brazilian striker Carolin Nicolli from English side Manchester City in a deal worth over €1.2 million, with a contract running until 2030.

The transfer carries record-breaking significance on multiple fronts: it is the most expensive signing in Barcelona Women’s history, the highest-value sale in Manchester City’s history, and marks the biggest transfer fee for a Brazilian player in women’s football.

The 26-year-old, who grew up in São Paulo, played for prominent clubs such as Corinthians and Palmeiras before undergoing European stints with Spanish side Madrid CFF and an American experience with North Carolina Courage. Internationally, she has scored 15 goals in 61 appearances for the Brazilian national team.

During her two seasons at Manchester City, Nicolli demonstrated a strong presence, netting ten goals and providing five assists in 19 matches last season. Her arrival at Barcelona represents a significant addition to the Catalan club’s squad, where she will join Portuguese forward Kika Nazareth, in an effort to strengthen the attack and secure further titles.
