Chelsea signs veteran Henderson

Chelsea have signed veteran midfielder Jordan Henderson on a two-year deal from neighbors Brentford, the club announced on Monday. Chelsea, which finished tenth in the English Premier League last season, confirmed the move.
Henderson’s contract with Brentford was confirmed to have been terminated last week after it emerged that Chelsea, their London neighbors in west London, were interested in signing him.
He joins the squad of new Spanish manager Xabi Alonso just two days after Chelsea signed another experienced forward, Danny Welbeck, from Brighton.
Last month, the Blues set a British transfer record by spending £117 million ($157 million) to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa. They also added French defender Maxence Lacroix from neighbors Crystal Palace and Italian Atalanta defender Marco Palusci.
