Al-Musabeh: "Artists in Love with Kuwait" at Jaber Center on the 30th
Artist Abdulaziz Al-Musbah announced his participation in the closing ceremony of the 18th edition of the Summer Cultural Festival. He will perform a concert titled "Artists in Love with Kuwait," conducted by Maestro Dr. Mohammed Al-Buainain, and featuring artists Saud Al-Faiz and Adel Al-Mas, on the stage of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre on the 30th of this month.
Al-Musbah clarified that he will perform three diverse songs during the concert, blending patriotic and romantic themes. These include the patriotic song "Bismillah" (In the Name of God), previously performed by the late artist Farid Al-Atrash for Kuwait, with music and lyrics by Fathi Qoura. He will also perform the romantic song "Slow Al-Kaab Al-Hasnaa," famously sung by artist Badi’a Sadiq, with lyrics by Kuwaiti poet Ahmed Al-Adwani and music by Kuwaiti composer Ahmed Al-Zanjbari. Additionally, he will sing "Ya Banat Al-Madina" (Oh Daughters of the City), originally performed by Tunisian artist Aliya, with lyrics by Kuwaitis Yusuf Nasser and music by Marzouq Al-Marzouq.
He added that rehearsals will soon begin at the Sheikh Jaber Cultural Centre stage in preparation for the concert scheduled for the 30th. He noted that he is continuing preparations for several patriotic and romantic works, alongside plans to hold public and private concerts in the coming period. He expressed his hope to deliver works that resonate with the audience’s emotions and preserve the authentic Kuwaiti artistic identity.
Regarding his participation in the song "Sur Al-Humayil," which launched yesterday, Al-Musbah expressed his delight at the reactions to the release of the patriotic music video. He emphasized that his involvement stemmed from his national duty and his desire to present a work that reflects his love for Kuwait and pride in its history.
He stated that the idea for the project began last April, following an offer from composer and musical supervisor Dr. Mohammed Al-Buainain. He explained that he accepted to participate without hesitation, as a patriotic work is, for him, a message before it is an artistic endeavor.
He said, "I accepted immediately, as this is the least I can offer Kuwait. The nation deserves much from us. 'Sur Al-Humayil' carries a sincere patriotic message that embodies loyalty and belonging, evoking the heroism and sacrifices of Kuwaitis throughout the ages. This has given the work significant historical and national value."
He pointed out that this is the first time he has performed "Ardah," noting that this musical genre is not easy due to its strong symbolism associated with chivalry, knighthood, and loyalty to the homeland. He added, "I am honored to be part of this project's team, because the Ardah is not merely an art form; it is a patriotic chant that reflects the authenticity and values of Kuwaiti society, embodying pride in the nation and its history."
Al-Musbah clarified that he sang alongside artist Mohammed Al-Baloushi, expressing his pride in working with a group of prominent artistic names who contributed to bringing this project to life in a manner befitting Kuwait’s status. He noted that the lyrics of the Ardah were written by Dr. Khalaf Al-Khalidi, while Dr. Al-Buainain handled the music and musical supervision. The project was directed by Abdullah Al-Wais, with production by VO company, under the production and supervision of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, and with artistic vision and supervision from Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector at the National Council for Culture, Musaed Al-Zamil. Musical arrangement was handled by Saeed Al-Sulaiti.
Al-Musbah thanked the National Council for Culture for its continuous support of patriotic works. He also praised the efforts of Al-Zamil, Dr. Al-Buainain, director Al-Wais, VO company, and arranger Saeed Al-Sulaiti, emphasizing that all team members exerted considerable effort to ensure the music video was presented in a manner befitting Kuwait’s history and national heritage.
