Invest GP Organizes Dialogue Session with Investment Leaders in Kuwait
To mark Global Internship Day, Gulf Capital Investment (Invest GP), the investment arm of Gulf Bank, organized the “Interns Day” event, which featured a special dialogue session titled “The Journey to Success in the World of Investment: Professional and Investment Lessons from the Financial and Investment Sector.” The session brought together a select group of experienced professionals in investment and business in Kuwait to share their career experiences and key lessons learned, highlighting the skills and habits that help young people build successful professional and financial futures.
The session, moderated by Talal Al-Khamis, Head of Equities and Fixed Income at Invest GP, covered the major milestones of professional success in the investment sector, the skills and qualities that distinguish promising talent, and the importance of early investment in both money and self-development. It also featured insights and experiences drawn from the careers of a number of leading financial and investment executives.
Participants in the session included Lamea Karam, Chairwoman of Invest GP and General Manager of Treasury Management at Gulf Bank; Mohammed Jafar, Managing Partner at Faith Capital Holding; Dalal Al-Rais, CEO and Co-Founder of Spear and Board Member of Gulf Bank; and Tariq Al-Saleh, First Head of Wealth Management at Invest GP.
The session was attended by several prominent leaders and institutional figures in Kuwait, including Layla Al-Mutairi, CEO of Injaz Kuwait; Fadwa Darwish, Secretary General of the Investment Companies Union; Dhafer Al-Bader, General Manager of Corporate Affairs at Gulf Bank and Board Member of Invest GP; Abdulrahman Al-Khabizi, Assistant General Manager of Private Banking Services at Gulf Bank and Board Member of Invest GP; Anoud Al-Hadhran, Independent Board Member of Invest GP; Hani Al-Awadi, Vice Chairman and CEO of Invest GP; and Ameer Hajieh, Chief Investment Officer at Invest GP.
Speakers addressed several topics, including career beginnings and pathways into the investment and financial services sectors, the skills required to build a successful career in the investment industry, and the importance of taking calculated professional risks and learning from experience. The session also discussed how to manage one’s first salary and develop sound investment habits at an early age, the importance of investing in oneself as a key driver of professional and personal success, the qualities that distinguish promising talent in the workplace, and the key advice and lessons speakers wished they had known at the start of their careers.
Commenting on the occasion, Sara Ayman Al-Muzaini, First Vice President of Human Resources at Invest GP, said, “Through this session, we aimed to provide interns with the opportunity to meet inspiring leadership figures who have succeeded in this sector and to hear directly about their professional experiences and the lessons they have gained throughout their careers. Learning from real-world experiences leaves a deeper impression on young people than any theoretical discussion.”

This comes within the framework of Invest GP’s ongoing commitment to supporting Kuwaiti youth and empowering national talent. In May last year, the company announced the launch of the fourth edition of its professional training program, the “IGB Training Program,” a move that reflects its active role as one of the most dynamic private sector companies in supporting and developing youth in Kuwait.
The program provides practical training and exceptional opportunities for professional development and employment for Kuwaiti youth. Many participants have successfully transitioned into full-time positions at Invest GP. Since its first edition in 2023, the program has attracted over 100 trainees from high schools and universities, as well as bachelor’s and master’s degree holders. Participants came from more than 20 local and international institutions, including the University of Kuwait, the Gulf University for Science and Technology, the American University of Kuwait, Babson College, Bentley University, Columbia University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cornell University, the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and King’s College London.
The program offered trainees realistic practical experience and opportunities to develop the personal and professional skills needed to keep pace with the changing demands of the job market. Additionally, 10% of participants joined the company after completing the program, underscoring the success of this initiative as an effective platform for discovering, attracting, and developing national talent.
