"Tenders Authority": 6 bids for the treated water system in the Southern Region, 7 for the Northern Region, and 4 for Mushref Pumping Station
The Central Tenders Board announced the opening of bids submitted for three strategic tenders by the Ministry of Public Works, covering the development and operation of treated water systems in the Southern and Northern regions, as well as the management, operation, and maintenance of the Mishref pumping station and its affiliated facilities. These initiatives aim to support infrastructure projects, strengthen the food security system, and maximize the utilization of treated water in the country.
According to a report in "Al-Kuwait Al-Yawom," the Board stated today that the tender for the development, construction, completion, operation, and maintenance of the treated water system in the Southern region, aimed at enhancing food security, received six bids, as recorded in the price schedule. The Board noted that the tender documents have been referred to the Ministry of Public Works for technical and financial review, with recommendations to be submitted within a period not exceeding 30 days.
In a related development, the Board revealed the opening of bids for the management, operation, and maintenance of the Mishref pumping station and its affiliated facilities, which attracted four bids. It confirmed that the documents have been referred to the Ministry of Public Works for review and for submitting the necessary recommendations.
Projects aimed at developing treated water systems are considered vital, targeting the improvement of efficiency in utilizing tertiary and quaternary treated water and expanding its applications. This contributes to providing sustainable water sources for irrigating agricultural and ornamental areas, while reducing reliance on fresh water for non-potable uses. These efforts align with the state’s direction toward sustainable water resource management.
