Kuwait Development announces companies' contributions for the Emergency Response

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced that several companies have contributed to the “Kuwait Emergency Response Fund,” launched on July 5 last year, with the aim of enhancing national preparedness and raising the efficiency of the State of Kuwait in responding immediately to exceptional circumstances.

Established at the initiative of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development and following approval by the Council of Ministers, the fund is managed and supervised by the Kuwait Fund to strengthen institutional resilience, improve national response efficiency, and enable relevant authorities to address emergency challenges effectively and efficiently.

In a press statement, the Kuwait Fund clarified that the group’s contribution reflects its belief in the importance of public-private partnership in supporting national priorities, and embodies its commitment to national and social responsibility. It also contributes to enhancing the state’s preparedness and supporting the sustainability of essential services and facilities during emergencies.

The fund emphasized that the contribution involves participation from various group companies, including Agility Public Warehousing Company, the National Real Estate Company, Sultan Center for General Trading and Contracting Company, Metals and Manufacturing Industries Company, United Air Services Projects Company (U-Bank), and Global Clearing House Systems Company. This participation aligns with a strategy that reflects the group’s commitment to supporting national initiatives and enhancing their developmental impact.

Agility is distinguished by providing logistics, warehousing, and infrastructure services to various sectors, including commercial companies, government institutions, international organizations, and relief agencies worldwide.

In a statement, the Kuwait Fund detailed the contributions from the group and its subsidiaries as follows: $2 million from the National Industries Group, $2 million from Noor Financial Investment, and $1 million from Al-Dorra National Real Estate.

The fund stressed that this contribution embodies the national role played by the group and its subsidiaries, and their continuous commitment to supporting efforts aimed at enhancing the state’s readiness and efficiency in facing emergencies, thereby contributing to protecting the country’s assets, strengthening the efficiency of vital facilities, and ensuring the continuity of basic services effectively and efficiently.

The statement noted that the National Industries Group manages a diverse portfolio of activities covering building materials, petrochemicals, oil and gas services, mechanical industries, utilities, real estate, infrastructure, and financial services. It also holds significant stakes in several regional and international companies.

The group has solidified its presence as a prominent investment force through extensive investments in vital sectors, including energy and telecommunications, in addition to holding investments in several global markets, such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Jordan, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

In a press statement, the Kuwait Fund clarified that the contribution from Aayan Group reflects the private sector’s commitment to supporting national initiatives and highlights the importance of complementary roles among various stakeholders in facing challenges and promoting the public interest. It also contributes to supporting the objectives of the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, raising the level of national preparedness, and enhancing the capacity to handle emergency situations and ensure the continuity of essential services and facilities.

The Fund noted that “Aayan for Leasing and Investment,” one of the leading Kuwaiti companies in the field of investment and Islamic finance, was established in 1999 and listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange in 2002. It operates in accordance with Islamic Sharia principles in the fields of leasing, financing, investment, development, and real estate investment, alongside its investments in several subsidiary companies operating in diverse sectors.

Aayan and its subsidiaries, including “Aayan Holding for Leasing,” East Gate Real Estate Company, and “Mubared Holding,” contributed as part of their commitment to supporting national initiatives and enhancing the role of the private sector in contributing to efforts that serve society and bolster the country’s readiness.

In a press statement, the Fund clarified that this initiative embodies the corporate and national social responsibility of Abdulmohsin Al-Babtain Company, reflecting its belief in the importance of concerted efforts to support national initiatives aimed at enhancing the country’s overall readiness and enabling relevant authorities to handle various emergency situations efficiently and effectively.

Abdulmohsin Abdulaziz Al-Babtain Company is considered one of the leading national companies in Kuwait, with a history dating back to 1948. It holds diverse investments in several vital sectors. The automotive sector is one of its most prominent activities, as the company serves as the exclusive agent in Kuwait for several global brands, including Nissan, Infiniti, Renault, and Citroën. The Fund emphasized that the company’s contribution reflects the vital role played by the Kuwaiti private sector in supporting government efforts and strengthening the national response system by providing the necessary resources for rapid crisis management, thereby reinforcing values of cooperation, solidarity, and national responsibility.

Al-Ahmadiya for Contracting and Trading is one of the most prestigious national companies in Kuwait, with its name linked since its establishment in 1954 to the country’s comprehensive urban development journey. Its rich history includes the execution of more than 62 strategic projects distributed across eight vital sectors, including government buildings, residential and commercial towers, health institutions, maritime facilities, airports, as well as infrastructure, roads, bridges, and industrial projects.
