Fatah Movement Spokesman: Egypt Has Blocked the Path to the Displacement of the Palestinian People from the Gaza Strip

Abdel Fattah Dawood, spokesperson for Fatah, affirmed that although Egypt is partnering with mediators in the current initiative aimed at halting the war on the Gaza Strip, it approaches the situation from a different perspective, focusing on the rights of the Palestinian people, the future of the Palestinian cause, and the future existence of the Palestinian people on their land.

In an interview with Al-Qahera Al-Nahar TV, he clarified that Egypt is concerned with the humanitarian catastrophe endured by the Palestinian people in Gaza and is striving to rescue them from it, as well as to counter one of the key objectives of the aggression related to displacement. He noted that war plans against Gaza included the goal of displacing as many Palestinians as possible from the Strip into Sinai.

He pointed out that Egypt has blocked this strategic objective and prevented the displacement of the Palestinian people, considering this a significant achievement in thwarting the occupation’s plans. He added that Egypt is currently considering how to begin reconstruction, recovery, and the restoration of life in Gaza, noting that this issue does not constitute a priority for other parties.

He called for a stance aligned with Egypt’s position from the European Union and European countries, emphasizing that the assault on the Palestinian people must stop, along with the necessity of halting illegal settlement activities.

He stressed the importance of aligning international efforts with Egypt’s initiatives, referencing the French-Saudi momentum regarding a two-state solution. He urged that this momentum be consistent with current developments and that no new situation emerge in Gaza isolated from the political process linked to the Palestinian state and the rights of the Palestinian people, warning against allowing Gaza to end up under a separate administration.
