The Ministry of Electricity calls on travelers to conserve energy and protect resources... as part of the "Save" campaign

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has called on citizens and residents to follow several simple measures before leaving their homes for travel, in order to reduce electricity and water consumption and preserve national resources, as part of the national energy and water conservation campaign, “Wafar.”

The ministry emphasized that preparing for travel requires ensuring energy efficiency at home before departure, as this plays a key role in reducing electrical loads and minimizing waste, particularly during holiday periods when large numbers of families travel.

The ministry clarified that among the most important steps to take before traveling are disconnecting unnecessary electrical appliances from power sources, turning off lights in rooms, setting air conditioning units to 27 degrees Celsius or turning them off if not needed, switching off the water heater, and ensuring there are no leaks in the home’s water networks.

It noted that these practices help reduce electricity and water consumption, curb waste, lower utility bills, enhance energy efficiency, and improve safety levels in homes during the owners’ absence.

The ministry reiterated its call for participation in conservation efforts, stressing that everyone’s commitment to responsible behavior is a fundamental pillar for supporting the sustainability of natural resources and maintaining the efficiency of the electrical and water systems, in line with the state’s objectives of achieving sustainable development and promoting a culture of responsible energy and water use.

The ministry concluded by affirming that the “Wafar” campaign continues to disseminate awareness messages aimed at embedding a culture of conservation across all segments of society, in accordance with its responsibility to raise awareness about the importance of preserving electricity and water as key national resources.
