Ministry of Education: 7 Vacancies After Appointment of 3 Directors General

Following the approval by Minister of Education, Eng. Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, of three decisions appointing three new Deputy Ministers General at the Ministry of Education, the number of Deputy Ministers General whose appointment decisions have been issued has risen to seven, leaving seven Deputy Minister General positions vacant according to the Ministry’s new organizational structure, which the Minister approved on July 5, 2025, and which was subsequently followed by the approval of detailed job specifications on December 18 of the same year.

Following the appointment of Undersecretary Dr. Khaled Al-Rashid, the appointment of Assistant Undersecretary Eng. Hamad Al-Hamad for the Education Sector, and the appointment of Assistant Undersecretary Eng. Mohammed Al-Khalidi for the Administrative, Financial, and Technical Affairs Sector, in addition to four previous decisions that included the appointment of Mohammed Al-Otaibi as Deputy Minister General of the General Administration of Guidance, Research, and Curricula; Maryam Al-Anzi as Deputy Minister General of the General Administration of Supporting Educational Services; Mohammed Al-Wazan as Deputy Minister General of the General Administration of Educational Areas; and Hamad Al-Houli as Deputy Minister General of the General Administration of Development and Enhancement, the appointments of Abdullah Al-Duwaishani as Deputy Minister General of the General Administration of Private Education within the Educational Affairs Sector; Amin Al-Azmi as Deputy Minister General of the General Administration of Human Resources and Personnel Affairs within the Administrative, Financial, and Technical Affairs Sector; and Bader Al-Mutairi as Deputy Minister General of the General Administration of Financial Affairs within the Administrative, Financial, and Technical Affairs Sector, have brought the total number of filled leadership and supervisory positions in the Ministry of Education to ten.

According to the approved organizational structure, seven General Administrations remain vacant. Two of these are in the Education Sector: the General Administration of Measurement and Evaluation, and the General Administration of Religious Education and Special Education. Five other vacancies exist in the Administrative, Financial, and Technical Affairs Sector: the General Administration of Information Technology and Systems, the General Administration of Planning, the General Administration of Services, the General Administration of Supplies and Warehouses, and the General Administration of Educational Facilities and Projects.

Meanwhile, educational sources confirmed to Al-Jarida that the process of filling the remaining General Administration vacancies is currently under review. Minister Al-Tabtabaei is currently working to identify suitable candidates for these positions, with some appointments expected to come from within the Ministry, while others may involve appointing qualified professionals from outside. The selection process adheres to several controls and conditions, following the recently implemented criteria for selecting senior supervisory positions in ministries and government entities.
