The Kuwait Basketball Federation announced the dispatch of 10 junior players to Serbia for a 30-day period, starting on August 9 and ending on September 9 of next year, as part of a comprehensive scholarship program conducted in collaboration with a sports company specializing in basketball skills development.

This project marks the first step in a long-term strategy aimed at preparing a new generation of talented players, under the supervision of the Training and National Teams Committee, through morning and evening training sessions designed to enhance their technical and physical capabilities and refine their skills.

According to the program, the specialized company will train the players under the guidance of world-class coaches ranked among the best in developing fundamental skills. Players born in 2011 and 2012 have been selected as the core of this ambitious program, given that this age group is particularly suitable for skill development.

The overseas program offers a comprehensive plan covering technical, physical, and nutritional aspects, under the supervision of global experts. It also provides players with the opportunity for direct interaction with Serbian players, thereby enhancing their experience and improving their performance. This project is viewed as the foundation for building a generation capable of representing the senior national team with distinction and competing at Gulf, Arab, and Asian levels.

For his part, Mohammed Al-Husawi, Acting Secretary-General and Head of the Training and National Teams Committee, confirmed that the Board of Directors had approved the committee’s proposal to launch a comprehensive scholarship program in Serbia in collaboration with the best companies there. He noted that this represents a genuine investment in the sport by cultivating a distinctive generation for the national teams.

He added that the objective extends beyond organizing a training camp; it aims to develop more skilled and confident players, emphasizing that building national teams begins with developing and refining skills.

He stressed that this initial phase targets players born in 2011 and 2012, with the program to continue in the future until the desired goals are achieved.
