Al-Arabi tests his readiness against Pyramids on Tuesday

Al-Arabi’s first football team will face Egyptian side Pyramids on Tuesday in a friendly match as part of their current training camp in Turkey, preparing for the upcoming clash against India’s East Bengal on the 12th in the playoff round for the main stage of the AFC Champions League Two.

The Al-Arabi technical staff, led by Croatian coach Goran Sablic, view the match as a test of the team’s technical and physical levels, particularly because they are facing an Egyptian side featuring a number of standout players, including Zico and Mehdi Lashin, who recently played for the Egyptian national team. Sablic is also expected to deploy Brazilian defender Sheldon, following the official renewal of his contract. Al-Arabi has played three friendly matches during their camp, winning the first against the reserve team of Imadspor 4-0, drawing 1-1 with Vanspor, and losing 1-3 to Erzurumspor.

In the same context, Al-Salmiya will play their first friendly match tomorrow, Sunday, in their Turkish camp against Egyptian club ZED, which competes in the Egyptian Premier League. The technical staff, led by Bahraini coach Ali Ashour, are relying on this experience to assess the players’ levels after a preparation period that began in Kuwait 10 days ago.

Al-Salmiya’s delegation departed for Turkey last Friday, where Ashour selected 32 players, including professionals Abdullah Youssef, Mahmoud Al-Aswad, and Trezore, as well as Mubarak Al-Funayni, who is returning to the Sky Blue squad. The team is scheduled to play three additional friendly matches against Qatari side Al-Marikh on the 6th, Algerian club Olympique de Chlef on the 10th, and will conclude their camp on the 14th.

Meanwhile, a sense of satisfaction prevails within the technical staff of Al-Kuwait, led by Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos, despite their 1-0 defeat to English club Milton Keynes Dons in a match played last Friday as part of the team’s training camp in London.

Santos emphasized that the objective of the match was to assess the players’ technical and physical levels, fielding two different lineups to give the maximum number of players playing time. Al-Kuwait continues with daily double sessions, morning and evening, focusing on improving technical and physical readiness ahead of their upcoming match against English club Portsmouth next Thursday, in preparation for the start of the new season.
