Gulf Union: Postponement of the 2026 Gulf Super Cup match date

The Gulf Football Union announced today the postponement of the 2026 Gulf Super Cup match, which was scheduled to pit Iraqi club Al-Dehqok, winner of the first edition of the Gulf Club Champions League, against Qatari club Al-Rayyan, winner of the second edition, from its originally planned date of August 13, 2026, to a later date to be determined, due to the current circumstances in the region.

The Gulf Football Union reaffirmed its commitment to hosting the match in the Duhok Governorate of Iraq, as previously planned. The new date will be announced, and all necessary arrangements for the match will be completed in due course, in coordination with the relevant authorities.

This new edition of the Gulf Super Cup represents a significant milestone in the development of regional competitions and enhancing their presence on the Gulf football scene, alongside the widespread fan and media interest expected in the region.
