Al-Sulaibikhat "Hand" Begins Preparations on August 10

Hussein Saywan, Director of the Al-Salmiya Club’s first men’s handball team, announced that the team’s preparatory period will begin on August 10 under the leadership of the new technical staff, headed by national coach Habib Hussein and assisted by Nasser Hassan, in preparation for the 2025–2026 season competitions scheduled to resume in October.

Saywan explained that the technical staff, in coordination with the club’s management, has devised an intensive training plan. The first phase focuses on enhancing players’ physical fitness alongside technical and skill-based development, aiming to prepare the squad to compete for top positions.

He noted that the team’s roster will be completed in early September with the arrival of the club’s foreign signings: Brazilian player Landro da Silva, French player Nicolas Claire, and Serbian player Jovan Milosevic. He expressed his gratitude to the board of directors, led by President Saad Anad and Secretary General Nasser Mansi, for providing the necessary resources and overcoming obstacles, ensuring the team is optimally prepared to compete strongly in upcoming tournaments.

Saywan also revealed that the team will hold an external training camp in Bosnia starting September 18 for 15 days, featuring four tough matches to boost cohesion and interaction among players, particularly given the new local signings who have strengthened the squad: Hussein Karam, Nasser Al-Faraj, Fahad Al-Haddad, and Mahmoud Ali. He expressed his hope that Al-Salmiya will present itself in a respectable manner and prove to be a formidable opponent for all its rivals.
