Peruvian Ambassador: Our relations with Kuwait continue to grow, and we look forward to deepening them through initiatives that enhance convergence
The Peruvian Ambassador to Kuwait, Carlos Jimenez, affirmed that relations between Peru and Kuwait continue to grow at an accelerating pace, noting that the two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations last year. This milestone embodied the depth of friendship and a shared vision based on dialogue and cooperation. He expressed his anticipation for sustaining this momentum through new initiatives that enhance rapprochement between the two nations.
This statement was made during a speech delivered by Jimenez at an event held yesterday to commemorate the 205th anniversary of his country’s independence. The event was attended by Assistant Undersecretary of State for the Americas Affairs, Minister Plenipotentiary Abdulaziz Al-Qudfan, a large gathering of accredited ambassadors and diplomats, as well as government officials, businessmen, and representatives of the private sector.
Jimenez emphasized that celebrating his country’s National Day also serves as an opportunity to highlight Peru’s significant economic and investment potential. He pointed out that Peru, which this year marks 205 years since its independence, has become one of the most dynamic and stable economies in the world, thanks to its responsible fiscal policies and open economy.
He called on Kuwaiti investors to take advantage of the promising opportunities offered by Peru in sectors such as infrastructure, food security, mining, renewable energy, logistics, tourism, education, healthcare, and digital technologies. He stressed that economic diplomacy is not limited to commercial and investment exchanges, but is built on fostering trust, enhancing communication between peoples, and exchanging expertise to achieve shared prosperity.
Coinciding with the celebrations, the embassy organized the “Peru Investment and Trade Fair,” which showcased prominent Peruvian products and industries, including premium coffee, quinoa, value-added food products, and traditional textiles, alongside samples of the country’s mineral wealth, notably gold and strategic minerals. This reflected the economic and cultural diversity that Peru possesses. The ambassador affirmed that organizing this exhibition reflects the Peruvian Embassy’s commitment to strengthening bilateral economic relations.
