Jordanian delegation arrives on August 6 for a friendly match against Al-Azraq Youth
The Kuwait Football Association received a letter from its Jordanian counterpart confirming that a Jordanian youth national team delegation will arrive in the country on August 6 next year, in preparation for two friendly matches against the Kuwait U-20 national team.
Jordan will visit the Blue Team for the two matches scheduled for August 8 and 11 next month, as part of the second phase of the preparation program for the seventh group qualifiers, hosted by Cambodia from August 31 to September 6 next year, for the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualification.
The draw placed the Blue Team in Group 7 alongside the host nation Cambodia, Yemen, and Japan. The technical staff is working to prepare the players adequately before entering the official competitions.
Meanwhile, the youth team continues its training sessions at the late Abdulrahman Al-Bakr Stadium at the Kuwait Football Association, under the guidance of Croatian coach Virdo Milin, who is focused on enhancing the players' technical and physical readiness during the current period.
The Blue Team resumed training at the same stadium after returning from Amsterdam, the Dutch capital, yesterday (Wednesday), without interruption. The team delegation arrived in the country the day before yesterday (Tuesday), following the conclusion of a training camp that included several training sessions and friendly matches.
Virdo Milin is scheduled to hold a meeting with the team's administrative staff and the Football Association's technical management to present technical and administrative reports on the Dutch camp, highlighting its key positives and negatives, as well as evaluating the players' performance levels.
On another note, the technical staff has decided not to call up new players to join the national team except in the most limited cases possible, aiming to maintain the harmony and cohesion the players have achieved after a long period of training and preparation.
The current squad will be reduced to 26 players, who will depart with the delegation for a training camp in Thailand on August 14. The camp will feature two friendly matches against the UAE and Iraq national teams, scheduled for August 19 and 24, respectively.
Following the conclusion of the Thai camp, the delegation will travel to Cambodia on August 28 to participate in the AFC U-20 Asian Cup qualification, with hopes of achieving the desired results and competing strongly for a qualification spot.
