Pakistan: Surgeon's Visit Underscores the Depth of the Historic Fraternal Relations Between the Two Countries
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the visit underscored the strength of the historic fraternal ties between Pakistan and Kuwait, and reflected both countries’ shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation across various fields.
It added that Zahid Hussain, Under Secretary for Middle East Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bid farewell to the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister upon his departure from Islamabad International Airport.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry noted that the two sides reviewed various aspects of bilateral relations and discussed ways to enhance cooperation in trade, investment, energy, labor, agriculture, information technology, health, mining, minerals, and defense, as well as to expand economic partnership between the two countries. They also agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation by activating communication mechanisms and increasing high-level visits.
The statement further said that both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continuing coordination and cooperation in regional and international forums on issues of mutual interest, and exchanged views on major regional and international developments, foremost among them the situation in the Middle East and the Palestinian issue.
The statement pointed out that the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for the warm welcome and hospitality, and also praised Pakistan’s support for Kuwait during the “corona” pandemic.
For his part, Ishaq Dar affirmed his country’s firm commitment to strengthening the longstanding fraternal relations with Kuwait, expressing Pakistan’s anticipation of expanding bilateral partnership to serve the common interests of both countries.
The Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously announced, in a statement published on its official account on the X platform upon the arrival of the Kuwaiti Foreign Minister in Islamabad, that the visit came in response to an invitation from Ishaq Dar, and aimed at discussing various aspects of bilateral relations and exchanging views on regional and international issues of mutual interest. It emphasized that the visit reflects the depth of the historic fraternal relations between the two countries, built on friendship, mutual trust, and close cooperation.
