CENTCOM Warns U.S. Soldiers Against Posting Videos Online

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander Admiral Brad Cooper warned troops today that posting videos online could help Iran strike U.S. bases.

Reuters reported that Cooper sent a message to troops on July 28, stating that videos posted online and in the news allow Iran to assess the success of its strikes “almost immediately.”

This warning comes after four U.S. soldiers were killed in Iranian airstrikes in mid-July. Cooper added in the message that the cost could be measured in the lives of U.S. military personnel and civilians targeted in Gulf states.

U.S. Central Command spokesperson Captain Tim Hawkins said in a statement to CNN: “The message serves as a general reminder to our force members of the importance of maintaining operational security. This is one of many opportunities Admiral Cooper has used to clarify operational priorities.”

The United States had launched new strikes on various sites in Tehran, lasting 13 consecutive nights, following the collapse of a ceasefire agreement.
