Chelsea shows interest in Henderson

Sky Sports reported on its official website that Chelsea, one of the major clubs in the English Premier League, is seeking to bolster its squad with the experience and efficiency of Henderson, who was included in England’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
The report added that these clubs are aware that Henderson, 36, has delivered outstanding performances for Brentford and the England national team since his return to the country from Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam last year.
Brentford’s management indicated upon Henderson’s arrival that they would not stand in his way if major clubs submitted offers to sign him. Consequently, he might be allowed to leave on a free transfer, although this is not guaranteed if multiple clubs submit bids. He has one year remaining on his contract with the Premier League club.
Henderson possesses the leadership qualities and experience that Chelsea aim to strengthen their squad with during the current summer transfer window.
Chelsea had previously shown interest in signing Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka, who plays for English club Sunderland, earlier this summer, but the deal did not materialize. Nevertheless, Sky Sports News reported that the London club held positive discussions regarding Brighton striker Danny Welbeck.
