Al-Amiri presents his credentials as Kuwait's first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan

Mohammed Rashid Al-Omairi, Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Republic of Tajikistan, presented his credentials to Tajik Foreign Minister Sariddin Mirdodiev yesterday, becoming the first non-resident ambassador of Kuwait to the friendly Republic of Tajikistan.

This move coincides with the opening of the Kuwaiti Embassy in the capital, Dushanbe, and its official commencement of operations in Tajikistan.

Al-Omairi also conveyed greetings from Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber to his Tajik counterpart, reaffirming Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation with Tajikistan and expanding ties across various fields.

Al-Omairi stated that the opening of the Kuwaiti Embassy in Dushanbe “reflects Kuwait’s interest in enhancing its diplomatic presence in Central Asia and consolidating its relations with the Republic of Tajikistan.”

He noted that “the embassy’s opening marks a historic milestone in Kuwait-Tajikistan relations and represents a new launchpad for strengthening bilateral cooperation and serving mutual interests, in line with the aspirations of the leaderships and friendly peoples of both countries.”

He emphasized “Kuwait’s keenness to enhance bilateral relations and elevate them across political, economic, investment, cultural, and developmental fields, alongside strengthening coordination and consultation on regional and international issues of common interest.”

Al-Omairi also expressed his appreciation for the congratulations he received on this occasion from former Tajik Ambassador and former head of the diplomatic corps in Kuwait, Zubiddin Zubiddzoda.

In a message sent to Zubiddzoda, Al-Omairi said that the words contained in Zubiddzoda’s message “are a great source of pride and reflect the depth of the friendly relations uniting our two friendly countries,” expressing his hope to work on strengthening bonds of cooperation and friendship between Kuwait and Tajikistan, in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of both nations.

In a conversation with Al-Ayyam newspaper, former Ambassador Zubiddin Zubiddzoda expressed his great joy at the opening of Kuwait’s first embassy in Dushanbe, describing this step as a historic development in bilateral relations and a manifestation of the shared desire to elevate cooperation to broader levels.

Zubiddzoda stated that the embassy’s opening is not merely a diplomatic achievement, but also reflects mutual trust and political will on the part of both countries’ leaderships to strengthen relations across various fields. He affirmed that the presence of a resident Kuwaiti diplomatic mission in Tajikistan would give new momentum to direct communication between government institutions and the private sector in both countries.

He added that this step would facilitate political dialogue, intensify official visits, and enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation, as well as open wider horizons for cooperation in culture, education, tourism, and development.

He pointed out that relations between Kuwait and Tajikistan have witnessed notable progress in recent years, supported by friendship and mutual respect, and by Kuwait’s role in supporting developmental projects in Tajikistan. He expressed confidence that the embassy’s opening would push these relations to a new, more dynamic, and comprehensive stage.

Zubiddzoda stressed that the presence of a Kuwaiti embassy in Dushanbe would also facilitate the provision of consular services, enhance communication between businessmen and investors, encourage the establishment of new partnerships serving mutual interests, and expand cooperation fields in regional and international forums.

In conclusion, Zubiddzoda congratulated Ambassador Mohammed Rashid Al-Omairi on assuming his duties, wishing him success in strengthening bilateral relations, and reaffirming his confidence that the coming phase would witness further achievements reflecting the depth of friendship between Kuwait and Tajikistan.

It is worth noting that bilateral relations between the State of Kuwait and Tajikistan have witnessed significant development in recent years, through the exchange of official visits and coordination in international forums. Furthermore, the State of Kuwait has implemented a number of development projects through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, while the Kuwait Red Crescent Society has carried out numerous relief and humanitarian projects, reflecting the deep ties between the two friendly countries.
