Apple Leads World's Most Valuable Companies at $4.94 Trillion

Apple’s market capitalization rose to approximately $4.94 trillion, surpassing Nvidia’s market value of around $4.83 trillion. Investors increasingly view Apple’s limited capital expenditure as a strength, particularly in comparison to competitors that are allocating tens of billions of dollars toward new artificial intelligence infrastructure.
While companies such as Alphabet and Tesla have increased their spending to support AI data centers, self-driving taxis, and robotics, Apple has reduced its capital expenditures over the past three quarters, even as it continues to expand its “Apple Intelligence” AI platform.
Investors will scrutinize Apple’s earnings results on Thursday for signs regarding its AI strategy, including whether it can scale “Apple Intelligence” without significantly increasing capital spending or squeezing operating margins.
This call will also mark Tim Cook’s final appearance as chief executive before he transitions to executive chairman on September 1, with John Ternus, head of hardware, expected to succeed him as CEO.
