Al-Shaya Group contributes $5 million to the Emergency Response Fund

The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development announced today that Al-Shaier Group has contributed $5 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, launched on July 5, to bolster national preparedness and enhance Kuwait’s capacity for immediate response to exceptional circumstances.
In a press statement, the Fund clarified that this initiative embodies Al-Shaier Group’s sense of social and national responsibility, reflecting its conviction in the importance of collective efforts to support national initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s overall readiness.
The Fund emphasized that the Group’s contribution highlights the vital and responsible role of Kuwait’s private sector in supporting government entities, providing the necessary resources for rapid crisis response, and reinforcing values of solidarity and mutual support within society.
The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development reiterated its call for all government institutions, public authorities, private sector companies, and national financial institutions to contribute to the Fund, describing it as a strategic pillar that enhances Kuwait’s developmental security and overall readiness under various circumstances.
Al-Shaier Group is among the leading national companies globally in the retail and entertainment sectors, operating more than 3,500 commercial destinations in partnership with over 50 global brands across local, regional, and international markets.
The Kuwait Emergency Response Fund was established at the initiative of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, following approval by the Council of Ministers. It is managed and fully supervised by the Fund, with the aim of strengthening institutional resilience, improving national response efficiency, and enabling relevant authorities to address emergency challenges effectively and efficiently.
