Israeli bombings and artillery shelling target towns in southern Lebanon

The Israeli occupation army carried out bombing operations in the afternoon of Monday in the town of Markaba in southern Lebanon, while occupation artillery shelled the outskirts of the towns of Talousa and Markaba in the south, according to Lebanon’s official National News Agency.

An unmanned aerial vehicle belonging to the occupation forces dropped a sound bomb in the skies over the town of Mansouriye, and today set fire to several houses in the town of Beit Yahoun in southern Lebanon.

It is recalled that Israel has been waging war on Lebanon since March 2 of last year, following Hezbollah’s launch of rockets into northern Israel. Its forces occupied several Lebanese towns.

Israeli raids continued to target wide areas in southern and eastern Lebanon, after the first announcement of a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel on April 16 of last year, followed by its extension on April 23 for three weeks, and then renewed extension on May 15 for 45 days.

On the 20th of last month, a ceasefire was announced, which held for several days before Israeli targeting resumed, involving drone strikes and artillery shelling on southern Lebanon.
