Al-Ahly Launches Summer Programs for Employees' Children

The National Bank of Kuwait has launched the activities of its summer programs designed for employees’ children, aimed at developing their personal and life skills and making the best possible use of their free time, as part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to investing in human capital and providing an inspiring and cohesive work environment for all members of its workforce.

The programs include the Young Innovators Camp for children aged 8 to 12, designed to inspire children to become inventors, designers, and problem-solvers. Through fun innovation labs, design challenges, LEGO games, creative projects, and competitions, participants will learn how to turn big ideas into real solutions.

The second program is the Public Speaking and Future Skills Camp for children aged 12 to 16, aimed at enhancing communication, leadership, and teamwork skills in a fun and supportive environment. Participants will engage in interactive exercises, storytelling challenges, role-playing, mini presentations, debates, group projects, and more.

The opening ceremony for the summer programs was held at the Australian University in Kuwait, attended by Afrah Al-Arbash, General Manager of Human Resources at the bank, the human resources management team, and program participants. The event featured a presentation outlining the program objectives, schedule, number of participants, creative workshops, group sports activities, and mental challenges involved.

On this occasion, Al-Arbash said, “We believe that our care for our employees extends to their families. Hence, this summer initiative aims to provide an inspiring space for their children to make the most of their free time by acquiring essential skills such as leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork—foundations that help prepare them for a promising future.”

She added, “We are keen to ensure that the workshops and practical applications include realistic simulations of daily life challenges, helping participants develop flexible thinking, sound analysis, and efficient decision-making abilities.”

She noted that launching programs targeted at employees’ families is part of a comprehensive vision to elevate the work environment, emphasizing the bank’s belief that a holistic work environment, where employee well-being and family stability directly and positively impact productivity, is crucial.

Al-Arbash continued, “While designing these four-week programs, we focused on the skills needed by today’s generation, such as flexibility and problem-solving. Building confidence and developing communication skills at an early age is not just a recreational activity, but a genuine investment in shaping the personalities of tomorrow’s leaders.” She expressed her pride in seeing the bank’s employees’ children undergoing experiences that build their personalities and equip them with sustainable skills, reaffirming the bank’s commitment to launching initiatives that reinforce its position as a preferred workplace.

She concluded that the summer activities and camps serve as a platform for discovering latent talents and leadership potential, transforming individual passion into collective achievements, and providing an encouraging environment that boosts children’s self-confidence, enhances their ability to express their opinions, and promotes harmonious collaboration with their peers.

This step follows a series of initiatives launched by Kuwait’s National Bank to support job well-being, strengthen family bonds among its workforce, and make a tangible impact on the behavior and skills of employees’ children.
