British Prime Minister: Our support for Ukraine is steadfast and we will not back down until we achieve a just and lasting peace

The British Prime Minister’s Office said the two leaders are expected to meet at a naval base, where they will hear a briefing on how UK-led training programs are enhancing the capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces and delivering results on the battlefield.

In a statement, Sir Keir Starmer said, “The UK stands shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine, and our support is unwavering... Russia should have no doubt about our resolve, and we will not back down until we achieve a just and lasting peace for Ukraine.”

During the visit, Starmer and President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet with more than 200 members of the Ukrainian armed forces and sailors, who have spent the past three weeks in the UK participating in the Sea Breeze maritime security and mine countermeasures exercises, designed to prepare them for future missions in the Black Sea.

Starmer’s office said the total UK support for Ukraine has reached £25 billion ($33.3 billion) since Russia’s large-scale invasion in 2022, including £16 billion in military aid and £5.6 billion in non-military support.
