Six academic programs added to the accreditation lists in the US and the UK

The National Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education issued two decisions adding six new academic programs to the lists of higher education institutions that Kuwaiti students are permitted to attend for undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the United States and the United Kingdom, as part of the periodic update of the lists of accredited universities and academic programs.

The two recently issued decisions, copies of which were obtained by the newspaper, indicated that the additions in the United States included four academic programs: a Master’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Social Entrepreneurship within the Business Administration specialization at the University of Southern California, as well as an undergraduate program in Philosophy, Politics, and Law at the same university, and an International Business specialization within the International Studies program at the University of California, San Diego.

In the United Kingdom, the additions included a Master’s program in Materials Technology at the University of Southampton, as well as a Master’s program in Physics and Astronomy at Queen Mary University of London.

The decisions emphasized that study in all added programs must be conducted through regular attendance during the academic week and according to the traditional education system, with the requirement that the program must have completed the specified duration for awarding the degree by graduating its first cohort of students.

They stressed the necessity for students to comply with all regulations and decisions governing enrollment and study at higher education institutions outside Kuwait, and to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Higher Education regarding the equivalency of academic qualifications. The decisions took effect from the date of their issuance.
