94% Completion of the Abdali Road Development Project

The Ministry of Public Works announced the completion of 94 percent of the Al-Abdali Road development project, which stretches from kilometer 10 to kilometer 35, as part of its plans to develop the road network and upgrade infrastructure on major roads, keeping pace with urban and traffic growth and enhancing the efficiency of the transportation network across various regions of the country.

The ministry stated that the project includes the implementation of five traffic lanes in each direction, along with two safety lanes, providing a higher level of safety for road users, reducing traffic congestion, and increasing the road’s capacity to accommodate the expected rise in vehicle numbers.

Al-Abdali Road is considered a vital route connecting Kuwait City to the northern regions, serving traffic heading to the Al-Abdali area, farms, and border crossings. Its development is therefore one of the strategic projects that facilitate mobility and reduce travel times, particularly during peak hours and seasons with high traffic density.

The achievement of a 94 percent completion rate reflects significant progress in the project’s implementation and the nearing of its completion, paving the way for handover. This will deliver a qualitative leap in the level of services provided to road users and align with the state’s direction toward developing a modern road network that meets the requirements of future development.

The project is part of the Ministry of Public Works’ ongoing program to develop and maintain major roads across various regions of the country, contributing to enhancing infrastructure quality in accordance with the latest engineering standards. This supports the state’s efforts to implement sustainable development projects and provide a more efficient and safer road network for its users.
