Al Ahly and Zamalek represent Egypt in the CAF Champions League

The board of directors of the Egyptian Football Association approved the participation of Zamalek and Pyramids in the CAF Champions League, while Al Ahly and Zed will represent Egyptian football in the CAF Confederation Cup during the 2026-2027 sporting season. The board also decided to form a committee to negotiate the renewal of the contract of the senior national team’s head coach, Hossam Hassan, appointed Essam Abdel Fattah as chairman of the Referees Committee, and Shawky Gharib as the technical director of the association.

In support of grassroots clubs, the association announced a comprehensive program worth 70 million Egyptian pounds, including financial support for popular clubs, monetary prizes for promotion to the Premier League, and incentives for youth and junior competitions aimed at discovering talent and strengthening the foundation of Egyptian football.
