Industry Ministry: Implementation of 3 industrial infrastructure projects this year
The Public Authority for Industry has begun preparing and accelerating the implementation of three infrastructure projects for industrial facilities this year, including the Naeem scrap yard and the infrastructure facilities for the craft zones, aimed at developing infrastructure and strengthening the industrial sector in the country, and preparing industrial and craft plots.
The three projects include, in detail, consulting services for study and design works, preparation of tender documents, and supervision of the implementation, completion, operation, and maintenance of the basic infrastructure for the Naeem car scrap site, covering an area of 2 square kilometers, which is currently under review. Additionally, the projects involve the operation and maintenance of infrastructure facilities for the expansion of the Jahra craft zone, the expansion of the Salwa craft zone, and the Abdullah Port, Plot 21, under the jurisdiction of the Public Authority for Industry. The third project relates to the preparation, study, and completion of several designs for integrated engineering plan models approved by the relevant government authorities for industrial plots.
The third initiative includes the preparation, study, and completion of several designs for integrated engineering plan models for industrial plots in Kuwait, which contribute to standardizing regulatory frameworks and facilitating procedures for plot owners and investors. This follows the Public Authority for Industry’s announcement regarding the preparation, study, and completion of several designs for integrated engineering plan models approved by the relevant government authorities for industrial plots in Kuwait, alongside presenting a list of the highest modern industrial construction standards aligned with the National Industrial Strategy for Kuwait 2035.
Regarding whether there are specific dimensions or fixed areas for the industrial plots on which the design models should be applied, or whether the area determination is left to the consultant’s vision according to best planning practices, it was clarified that there are no fixed dimensions for applying the design models, as industrial plot dimensions vary. The consultant is expected to provide a flexible design that demonstrates the ability to efficiently address varying areas and offer implementable solutions across multiple scenarios. It was noted that the layout of the Shaddadiya and Subhan Plot 4 area can be consulted to determine plot dimensions.
