Khousanov extends his contract with Al-Saiti for five years

Khuzani contributed last season to leading City to win both the domestic Cup and League Cup titles, as well as finishing second in the Premier League behind Arsenal, under the guidance of Spanish manager Pep Guardiola, who decided to leave the club after a decade-long tenure.

The 22-year-old international center-back joined City in January 2025 from French club Lens.

Khuzani has earned 30 caps for the Uzbekistan national team and participated this summer in his country’s first-ever World Cup campaign, playing in all three Group Stage matches.

He said: “This is a great day for me and my family. I am very happy to extend my stay with City. I have enjoyed every minute since arriving in Manchester, and I feel that I am developing and learning a lot as a player.”

He added: “I now face a new challenge, which is to convince the new Italian manager, Enzo Maresca, and his coaching staff, and to secure a regular place in the team. I am determined to achieve that.”

Khuzani became the second City player this week to renew his long-term contract with the club, following English striker Phil Foden, who signed a new four-year deal.

City’s Portuguese sporting director, Hugo Viana, said: “We have been very pleased and impressed by the development Abdulqadir Khuzani has shown since arriving in England. We see him growing into a great young man and an outstanding defender, but we know this is just the beginning.”
