Raids on Hodeidah Port; flames and smoke rise in the area

Violent explosions rocked the coastal city of Hodeidah in western Yemen on Friday evening, following airstrikes targeting the port of Hodeidah, after Saudi Arabia announced that one of its ships had been attacked in the Red Sea.

Witnesses told the German News Agency (dpa) that a series of airstrikes targeted the area around the port of Hodeidah, followed by the sound of violent explosions, with flames and plumes of smoke seen rising from the area.

Earlier, the Saudi General Authority for Transport announced that the NCC MASA, a ship belonging to a Saudi company, had been attacked while sailing in the Red Sea, causing minor damage to its hull. It confirmed that the ship continued its journey after its safety and the safety of its crew were verified.
