Netanyahu Meets Trump at the White House on Tuesday

The office stated, “As part of the visit, the Prime Minister will meet President Trump at the White House on Tuesday and will attend the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham, an ally of Israel,” who died on July 11, noting that he will depart for Washington on Monday.

The meeting will be the sixth between Netanyahu and Trump since the latter returned to the White House last year.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s visit comes amid escalating tensions between the two sides over the course of the war with Iran.

Relations between Trump and Netanyahu have deteriorated recently following the United States reaching a memorandum of understanding with Iran.

Israeli and American media reported that Netanyahu has been seeking a meeting with Trump for weeks, sparking speculation about disagreements between the two men.

Netanyahu’s visit to the White House follows a few days after the US President received his Lebanese counterpart, Joseph Aoun, as part of American efforts to secure a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah and to disarm the Iran-backed group.

The meeting with Aoun focused on Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon, a demand by Lebanese authorities in the context of implementing the framework agreement brokered with Israel under US sponsorship.

Trump is expected to address the Lebanese file with Netanyahu, as well as the course of the war with Iran, which erupted following US-Israeli strikes on the Islamic Republic on February 28.

Netanyahu’s visit also comes nine months after Trump’s visit to Jerusalem in October 2025, during which he met with the Israeli Prime Minister as part of negotiations that led to a ceasefire in Gaza.
