Customs: Smuggling attempt of cigarettes out of the country thwarted

Officials from the General Administration of Customs at the Nuweiba border crossing thwarted an attempt to smuggle a quantity of cigarettes out of the country.

The seizure followed a thorough customs inspection of one of the vehicles, which uncovered 43 cartons and 8 packs of cigarettes tightly concealed inside the fuel tank and the gear shift console, in compartments specially prepared to hide contraband, confirming that the vehicle had been prepared for smuggling purposes.
