US Summons Malaysian Ambassador Over Malaysia’s Policy Toward Israel

Malaysian state media, citing the country’s foreign minister, reported that the U.S. State Department summoned the Malaysian ambassador to the United States to clarify Kuala Lumpur’s stance toward Israel.

He added, “This has always been Malaysia’s policy. Our immigration policy does not recognize the state of Israel or the Zionist entity. This is our consistent position.”

Bernama news agency quoted Muhammad on Thursday night, stating, “There was an individual holding dual American and Israeli citizenship who entered Malaysia using his American passport. However, subsequent investigations revealed that he also holds Israeli citizenship, so we requested his departure.”
