Kuwait departs for its English camp today

The Kuwait SC first football team delegation departs the country today (Friday) for London, the British capital, to begin a training camp lasting until August 15, 2026, in preparation for the 2026-2027 football season. The upcoming season will see Al-Ahly (the White) participate in the AFC Asian Cup 2, alongside competing in all domestic tournaments.

The technical and administrative staff are counting on the English camp to bring the players to the highest levels of technical and physical readiness, given the demanding fixtures awaiting the team during the season and the club’s desire to continue its trophy-winning streak both domestically and continentally.

The technical staff has ensured a comprehensive camp program, which includes playing between four and six progressively challenging friendly matches. The identities of the teams Al-Ahly will face will be announced sequentially.

Portuguese coach Alexandre Santos is expected to join the team delegation in London on either Saturday or Sunday next week, to take direct charge of training sessions. This follows the assistant technical staff overseeing the first phase of preparations in Kuwait over the past few days.

Al-Ahly kicked off their training last Sunday with 15 players participating, under the guidance of assistant coach Karim Al-Shazly. During this initial phase, the focus was on physical aspects, aiming to raise the players’ fitness levels before traveling to the overseas camp.

The second phase of preparations in London is expected to feature increased training loads, with a focus on technical and tactical aspects, the implementation of various tactical patterns, and leveraging the friendly matches to reach the best possible level before the start of official competitions.

This step aims to retain outstanding players while working to prepare them for participation with the first team in the near future.
